"Are you crazy?"

I don't know- am I? From the moment Martouf came through that gate and
told us Dad was being held prisoner, all I could think was rescuing him. I couldn't let
him go without a fight.

Now, I sit here, holding his failing body in my arms. It scares me. Worse
than when I saw him sick in the hospital- there I knew we had a chance to save him,
if he believed us. Now, well... he's my dad, My Hero, the most important person in my
life. The guy who used to try to get me to think clearly. The one who held me when I
cried after Mom died. He's always been larger than life to me, and I think that's what
hurts the most.

He looks up at me again, whispers my name so softly, and smiles through
his pain.

I can't bring myself to say good bye now. Not yet. I hold him closer,
praying we can get out of here.

I feel a hand squeeze my shoulder. I glance up, there is Daniel. Strong
and solid, offering his strength to me. I am grateful, and know with the help of my friends,
we can make it through.
